Lisa Ann Smith

April 23, 1962 — May 10, 2014

Lisa, age 52, passed away May 10, 2014 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born April 23, 1962 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to James Waldo and Geraldine Smith. I never dreamed that I would be writing my own sister's obituary. Her death had come unexpectedly and unnecessarily. Lisa was a rare and special person. She had a multitude of friends and you always knew where you stood with her. She took great care in nurturing her friendships. She had beautiful porcelain skin on the outside and a rare generous heart as well. She had a wonderful sense of humor and an infectious laugh. Even though she did not have children of her own, she treasured the opportunity to work in childcare facilities. Teaching, nurturing and going the extra mile while celebrating birthdays, holidays and other special events brought her great joy. She was the Aunt that was the spoiler of her nieces and nephews. Survivors include her brother, Keith (Sue) of Lacey, WA; nephews, Kacy of Olympia, WA; Curtis (Kelly) of Pullman, WA; Derek of Lacey, WA; Nicholas of Dickerson, ND; and Elder Eric Smith of the Tennessee Nashville Mission; nieces, Holly (James) of Albuquerque, NM; Stephanie (Kenner) of Auburn, WA; and Meagan of Ogden, UT; 3 great-nephews, Ammon, Luke, and Henry; great-niece Elaine. She was preceded in death by her parents. In lieu of flowers, we ask two things from you. First, if you have special thoughts or giggles of Lisa, that you write them down and give them to her brother at the viewing. They will be read at the cemetery. And second, that you take time to love your family and cherish every moment. Place of Birth:Salt Lake City, UtahPlace of Death:Salt Lake City, Utah
