Hari Singh

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Hari Singh, our Papa Ji, found his way back home Thursday, June 5, 2014. On March 11, 1923 Papa Ji was born in Shankar, a small village in Punjab, India to Mehar Singh and Harnam Kaur. He had two sisters (both deceased) and two brothers (one deceased). Working alongside his dad, he learned the importance of humility, honesty, and above all else, unconditional love. Papa Ji embedded these values into his children and now ow his grandchildren and great-grandchildren are reaping the fruits. His blessings will forever remain. In July, 1987 Papa Ji moved to the United States with his wife, Gian (Bibi Ji) Kaur. Bibi Ji passed away May 27, 1998. In America, Papa Ji worked and lived with his son, Vijay. Papa Ji had many hobbies, some of them were watching wrestling, reading, riding his bike, telling stories about his life in India, and spending time with his grandchildren. We will forever cherish the memories we shared with Papa Ji and hold them near to our hearts. He will be remembered for his zest for life, honesty, compassion, work ethic and stubbornness, among many other things. His company will be sorely missed at future family events. Our family will forever remember the memories we shared with Papa Ji. He now joins his parents, sisters, brother and wife. He is survived by his children and their spouses: Tirath Kaur and Himmat Singh, Baldev Singh and Palwinder Kaur, Ranjit Atthi and Sohan Lal, Balwinder Kaur and Makhan Singh, Vijay Kumar and Jody Kumar, Jaswant Kaur and Lakhwinder Singh; brother and sister-in-law, Gurdas Singh and Jagir Kaur; 19 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 14, 2014, 10:00 a.m. 12:00 noon at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road.
