Sarah Luella Skipworth, passed away in the early hours on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at the age of 98. She was born December 8, 1916 in Charleston, Utah, the youngest of 4 girls born to Francis and Sarah Brown Cummings. Luella married the love of her life, Ernest Milbourn Skipworth "Skippy" in the Salt Lake Temple on December 22, 1939. They were the proud parents of one daughter, Sharee Lue Bross. Luella taught us many wonderful and important life lessons by her marvelous example. No one left her loving and tidy home hungry, often with a sack full of vegetables from Skippy's garden in the summer or his hand-dipped chocolates at Christmas time. Her life was an example of unfailing service to neighbors, friends, and most importantly her family, always putting the needs of others before her own. She taught us it is better to give than receive, don't judge others, and to be patient in suffering. She taught us to face our fears and to find the joy in life. Her canned fruits, pickles, and chili sauce could not be beat and oh, those delicious pumpkin, apple and blackberry pies were amazing. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held many callings in the Relief Society and Young Women's organizations. She and Skippy served many years in the Jordan River Temple. She is survived by her daughter, Sharee; grandsons, Steven (Linda) Bross, Mark Bross; great-grandsons, Christopher (Marie) Bross, Jerami Bross, Joshua Bross, Matthew Bross, and Michael Bross; great-great-grandchildren, Tyson Bross, and Lynlee Bross; and many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, her sisters and their husbands: Ray & Bessie Calderwood, Leonard & Amy Giles, Jim & Merle McCausland; parents-in-law; in-laws, Douglas & Ivy Allred, Louis & Afton Skipworth, Neff & Erma Fisher, Leslie Skipworth, Thelma Skipworth. We would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Intermountain Medical Center, Highland Care Center, and the firefighters of Murray City Fire Department for their kindness and compassionate care for our beloved Luella.
