Thanh Xuan Ky, age 60 After a courageous battle with cancer, our father Thanh passed away in his home on October 28, 2015 peacefully surrounded by his family. Born to Ky Xuan An (father) & Cong Tang Ton Nu Thi Lan (mother) on January 18, 1955. He was raised in Vietnam as the youngest of six, and though he was surrounded with so much turmoil of the time he strived to always find ways to better himself. With twenty dollars to his name, he came to Utah in 1980 with our mother Lantin to escape the conditions in Vietnam in hopes of providing a better life for his family. He worked extraordinarily hard at everything he did and accomplished a great deal. He went on to receive his Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Utah in 1998 all while working full time and raising us four kids alongside our mom. Some of his passions included fishing, photography, nature and travel. All to which he loved experiencing with friends & family. The most important passion and lesson he taught us was something he lived and practiced every day in his life, and that was family should always come first. He will be missed every day for the rest of our lives. Survived by Lantin Ky (wife), Van (son), Don (son), Nhavy & Jordan (daughter & grand daughter), Thuha, Elmer & Isabella (daughter, son-in-law & grand daughter), along with his five older sisters and in-laws.
