Marilyn Jensen

Marilyn passed away on Jan. 30, 2016 of natural causes at St. Mark's Hospital with her family by her side. Marilyn was born on Sept. 7, 1931 in Provo, Utah to Rulon and Alberta Scorup Fairbourn. She grew up on her family ranch in Lost Creek, Utah where she and her sister, Joyce, raised and groomed many grand champion show steersreally breaking the gender barrier of cattle competitions. She met her future husband Robert and was the valedictorian at North Sevier High School. On Nov. 26, 1952, they were married in the Manti Temple. Their six children were born in various locations in California and Utah. She initially taught elementary school and then stayed at home to raise her family. She was later a rural mail carrier. Marilyn was a positive inspiration to everyone she met. After her family and church, her biggest passion was gardening. She loved taking care of her flowers and huge vegetable and fruit tree garden. She was an avid scouter; being a Boy Scout leader in excess of 50 years. Marilyn is survived by her brother Denis Fairbourn; six children: Randall L (Carolyn), Kathleen (Bill) Harper, Jeffrey C. (Camille), Mark L. (Glenys), Keith D. (Danielle), and Ann Marie (Deane) Woodland; 24 grandchildren; and numerous great-grand children. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; her sister Joyce (Burge); her brother Lee Ray Fairbourn; twin sons Robert and Russell; and one grandson. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 6th, 2016, at 10:00 AM, at the LDS chapel, 2812 W. 11800 S., South Jordan, UT, where viewings will be held Friday, Feb. 5th, 6-8:00 PM and Feb. 6th, 8:30-9:30 AM.
