Aileen Bailiff

Evelyn Aileen Tyree Bailiff was born April 22, 1921 in Chadron, Nebraska and celebrated 96 years of life before passing away on October 15, 2017 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Married to Harland Durant Bailiff, May 30, 1948, later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Aileen was the youngest of 12 children and was raised on the family farm in Chadron, NE. In her early years she rode a horse to a one room school house during The Depression. She enjoyed working at a dress shop in her youth and then later as a receptionist at a doctor's office where she met Harland, but raising her children was her greatest accomplishment. She served in her church relief society, primary, and young women organizations. She was famous for her artistic pancakes, angel food cake, potato salad, and divinity. She was a stay at home mom and loved caring for her family. In her spare time she enjoyed: old movies, Lawrence Welk, talking on the phone, Jazz Basketball and shopping. She was very creative and loved working with flowers, doing crafts, and wrapped the most beautiful presents. She was also a 50 year breast cancer survivor. Aileenwas survived by son Randy Bailiff; daughters Darla Wayment, Gayla Rowley (Doug); and grandkids Sean (Kelly) Bailiff, Brittani McCleery (Chad), Braedon Bailiff and their mother Kathy Bailiff; Tiffany Rappleye (Andy), Lance Rowley (Nicole), Derek Rowley (Leslie) and Tara Rivera (Kevin); and 13 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 21, 2017, 11:00 a.m., at the LDS Chapel, 6710 West 4145 South, West Valley City, Utah 84128., where viewings will be held on Friday Oct. 20th, 6-8:00 p.m. and prior to services from 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Murray City Cemetery.
