Alberta Olsen Smith

Alberta Olsen Smith Tiny Our mother was reunited with our father on June 2, 2013. She was born February 17, 1930 in Duchesne, Utah to Orin Niels and Gracia Leona Grey Olsen. She married the love of her life, Floyd H. Smith, November 10, 1952. This marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple October 28, 1963. After raising her children to school age, mom began her long awaited career as a medical assistant. She loved her doctors and patients at Southwest Medical Center for decades. I remember long weekend drives to the Uinta Basin to can vegetables and reconnect with family. Amazing fried chicken, The Journal magazine, pot roast on Sundays and her laugh ~ our mother had a heart warming laugh. She is survived by her children Flo (Galen) Rouse, Melody VerValen (Lonnie, deceased), Connie (Larry) Laird and Terry (Windy) Smith; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her much loved sister Beverly Uresk. She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; sisters Geneve Mitchell and Flora Dalpiaz. The family would like to thank RMC for the love and care given our mother in her fight with Alzheimer s. Graveside services will be held Thursday, June 6, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at Valley View Memorial Park, 4400 West 4100 South. Arrangements under the direction of McDougal Funeral Home.
