Alexandria Marie McKendrick

January 22, 1985 — May 16, 2017

Alexandria Marie McKendrick, 32, unexpectedly passed away in her sleep May 16, 2017. Alex was an energetic, kind person who helped others. Alex was born and raised in Salt Lake City. She was baptized a member of the LDS church as a child. She was a fabulous artist and loved drawing. She also loved music, both listening and making her own music. Alex grew up with 6 other girls who were like sisters to her. Monica, Amanda, Kimberly, Ashley, Faith and Sylvia. They were together throughout childhood and Alex loved them deeply. As a teen Alex enjoyed rock climbing and trained professionally. Her natural ability and determined personality led to success in many areas in her life. For a number of years Alex participated as a cast member in Rocky Mountain Haunted House during the Halloween season. Alex knew how to enjoy life. Alex attended Jordan High school and then studied at Salt Lake Community Collage. Alex had a baby boy that she placed for adoption. Through open adoption, Alex was able to enjoy him and watch him grow. He has been a light in her life. Later, Alex courted Jered Scovel. Their partnership blossomed into a family. They have two beautiful children Annika and Ashton. All her children have been blessings to her. She is greatly missed. Alex has many friends. Being a very social person, she is loved and missed by many. Alex is survived by her children Annika, Ashton (and Elias (adopted by Eric and Heidi Castle)); her mother Stacey McKendrick; grandmother Rosilee Nourdlund; her father Brian Gough; brother Michael Gough; sisters Angalee, Melissa; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by a cousin Jena Carranza; and her grandparents. A memorial service will be held for Alex Wednesday, May 24th, 6:00 p.m. at the LDS Chapel located at 1165 West 2320 South, West Valley City, Utah 84119.
