Alice Marie Cook’s beautiful spirit moved on from this world on April 4th of this year. Her genuine love and kindness towards people and animals will endure for generations. She had a warm and friendly nature towards everyone and had a natural gift for making fast friends with complete strangers. People would find themselves sharing their life history gladly in a matter of minutes with her.
She shared a magical relationship of 68 years that was one for the ages and included 65 wonderful years of marriage with her husband and partner, Shelby “Bud” Cook, Jr. Together they built a home and raised children in West Valley City. They loved to travel together and embarked on many amazing journeys. They loved to invite others on ski vacations and enjoyed bringing their furry canine friends with them everywhere they went. He sang to her in her final hours: “God speed my love ‘til you are mine again”, and he looks forward to that day with hope.
One of her greatest joys come from her love of the children, grandchildren, great and great-great-grandchildren that endure as her legacy.
She is preceded in death by her parents; 9 siblings; her daughter Mary Jean Cook; and a grandson; and great-grandson.
She is survived by her children and their spouses: Shelli & Ken Buckner, Leanne & Steve Budd, Kathleen & David Orr, Darrin & Lorri Cook, Curtis & April Cook, Kevin & Catherine Cook; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
