Jean Berryman was reunited with her husband Cecil on Tuesday, January 30, 2018. Alice Jean Stringfield Berryman was born February 22, 1938 in Isle of Wight, Virginia to James Roy Stringfield and Mary Francis Griggs. She married Cecil Hunter Berryman in Virginia on the 17th of June 1955. They moved to Kearns, Utah in April of 1970 where they raised their 6 children. Jean was a hardworking woman who loved to share the story with her family of how she passed the Civil Service Exam at 17, and with her husband, worked at the Norfolk Naval Base. She ended her career as a Real Property Specialist at the Salt Lake County Assessor's office in Salt Lake City, where she made many friends. Jean always had a strong work ethic, which she passed down to her children. After retirement Jean embraced the role of proud, doting grandmother to 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She had a special relationship with each of them. The differing personalities and individuality of her family members brought a smile to Jean's face. Jean was sharp witted until the very end and regardless of her traditional outlook on life, she enjoyed discussing politics, social issues, and listening to the opinions of those around her. Her happiest moments were when she was surrounded by her family during her many holiday gatherings. Respecting her final wishes, no formal ceremony will be held as life itself is a celebration and death is but the final chapter to conclude a life well lived. The family would like to thank the hospice staff for the care they provided in her final months of life, as Jean appreciated all of the efforts to keep her comfortable in her own home.
