Allen A. Driscoll Gabby Allen Andrew Driscoll, passed away peacefully, with family at his side, December 18, 2011 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Born February 16, 1925 in Salt Lake City, Utah, son of Andrew Allen and Kathryn Parkin Driscoll. Married Ardyth Adele Jones November 1, 1950; later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Allen served proudly in the US Marine Corp in WWII ~ a Purple Heart recipient. Employed as a superintendent at Amoco Oil Refinery in Salt Lake City for 32 years and enjoyed 29 years of retirement with family and friends. Enjoyed hunting, fishing and going to the Ranch. Loved coaching the Rose Park Little League Baseball and Football and never forgot the young men he coached. He loved each and every one of them. Dad s nickname, Gabby , lived with him to the end. Thanks to Dr. Craig Harmon for his years of service in caring for Dad, Dr. Steve Fehlauer for his care given to dad in his final days, and especially to the entire staff of Silverado Care Center for their never ending love and care of dad. A very special thanks to dad s nurses, Joyce and Tara; you gave him the love and care he so desired. Dad has been reunited with mom, who he missed so deeply; she preceded him July 8, 2009. May they enjoy the upcoming holidays together. Also preceded in death by parents; brothers, Keith and Gordon; sister, Norma Zeck. Survived by children: Shannon (Craig) Rasmussen, Karen (Chris) Pohlman, Allen D (Kristyn) Driscoll, Pat Abafo, Suzanne (Richard) Rosa; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Myrna Driscoll; and special, caring nephew, Richard Ryan, who stood by dad through it all.
