Allen Evans

June 7, 1942 — September 21, 2022

Allen F. Evans was born June 7, 1942, in Spanish Fork, Utah to Forrest and Jennie Evans. He died September 21, 2022, in his home in Taylorsville, with daughter by his side.

Allen was the youngest of 11 children. When he was about 9 months old his mother passed away. Allen's father was not able to raise him, so he was raised by his uncle Harold Jensen and Aunt Jennie Jensen. He loved them like his own parents. They raised him in Lehi, Utah. He went to Lehi High school. After high school he joined the Army National Guard. When his two years were up he moved to Salt Lake City, Utah. He found a job at the State Library for the blind, he worked in the warehouse. He worked there for 37 year and then volunteered there for another few years after retiring. In Salt Lake he met Judy Tingley at a church activity. After dating for several months, they were married in June of 1969 in the Salt Lake Temple. They moved to Taylorsville, Utah where in 1971 they started a family, by having a daughter Amy. In 1979 they had a second daughter, Rebecca.

Allen was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He had many callings, including Stake librarian for 8 years, church magazine coordinator, blood drive coordinator, teacher in the High Priest group, home teaching coordinator, ministering brethren and in the past year he was a primary sub teacher.

Allen loved fishing when he was younger and loved watching western movies. He loved being around people, talking or just people watching. He loved to sing; he would sing everywhere and he even would make up songs. His favorite thing of all time was being a husband and a father, he loved his wife and daughters so much.

Special thanks to Meri (Allen nurse's aid). Thank you for taking care of him every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning.

Survived by his daughter Rebecca Evans; cousins; nieces; and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents; sibling; wife Judy; and daughter Amy.
