Anne Smart-Pearce, 94, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great- Anne Smart-Pearce with grandsonTaken about 1997 grandmother, sister, aunt, teacher, mentor and friend, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2017, at home in Salt Lake. She was born May 10, 1923 to Charles and Edna Smart Pearce in Roosevelt, UT. She attended BYU and later LDS Business College. While there she met and married Albert Maddocks in the Salt Lake Temple on May 3, 1951. She was an entrepreneur and created a successful photography business, "Al-Anne Portraits". She was an author. She wrote beautiful poetry. She was an artist painting and sculpting. Mom was a faithful member of the LDS church. She was compassionate and loved serving others. This precious woman had incredible strength and perseverance. She was unstoppable. She lived her life with passion and purpose. Though she became blind, she produced beautiful bookmarks and cards. She is survived by her 7 children, Larry (Julene), Kathy (Norman), Beth, Mark (Kim), Lynda (Jeff), Nannette (Rick), Charles (Amy); and many grandchildren. Preceded in death by Albert Maddocks; MerrillLee (daughter). Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 13, 2017, 12:00 pm at the Winder 8th Ward at 1361 East 4000 South, Salt Lake City, Utah 84124. She will be interred before her services. Those who would like to attend the dedication of the grave site, please meet by 9:45 am at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah 84123; from there we will drive to the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
