On May 3, 2016 April Michelle Weber left us to go dance in heaven. When she was born and diagnosed with myotonic dystrophy, the doctors did not expect her to live past the age of eight years. At the age of twenty-three, our miracle baby almost tripled her life expectancy. April was born April 6, 1993, in Kearns, UT, to Michael Joseph Weber and Lisa Jean Archibald. From the very beginning it was evident that April was a special daughter of God, radiating love that could be seen and felt. She touched the hearts and lives of everyone she came in contact with. She had unconditional love for everyone and always demanded a hug. Most babies become mobile by scooting, crawling, and walking. With April it was scooting and rolling, and by rolling there were few places she couldn't get to. She was often found in front of the bookcase, sitting in a pile of books that she was pulling off the shelf and looking at. She loved being with her cousins, and soon learned that when they ran down stairs to play, leaving her alone, she could join them by bumping down the stairs on her bum. A whole new world of mobility and freedom was opened up to her when she got her first wheelchair. By the age of three, April had not spoken a word, and it was feared she would not be able to speak. Then one day, much to everyone's surprise and delight, she started talking, counting, and singing the ABC song. Though her cognitive reasoning was somewhat impaired, her ability to memorize was amazing. She would watch a movie, then wheel around the house reciting the dialog and singing the songs. Computers and the internet were her window to the world and she love them. She would search out videos and songs and then sing along at the top of her lungs, filling the entire house with her angelic music. April loved to sing. The availability of tablets added yet another layer of excitement and joy, as she was now able to participate in her favorite pastime while moving around the house in her wheelchair. Replacing her tablet with a smart phone seemed to be her latest desire. April was very social and loved school. After attending Butler Elementary School, West Jordan Middle School and West Jordan High School, she completed four additional years at South Valley School in West Jordan. She then transitioned into a day program at Danville, located in Draper, Utah. The majority of her life April lived in West Jordan, Utah, with her mother and grandparents. As her mother's health declined it became more difficult to meet April's needs, so with much prayer and divine intervention, a very loving lady, Lose Moala, came into April's life. On September 1, 2015 April moved into Lose's home where she was immediately accepted as part of the family and loved and cared for by not only Lose, but by all of her family. April loved being at her "Herriman home". April was preceded in death by her grandmother, Georgia Archibald; and her grandfather Harold Weber. She is survived by her mother and father; grandfather, Dennis Archibald; uncle and aunt, Paul and Sandi Archibald; aunt and uncle, Denise and Josh Stark; Aunt Amy Cardoza; and eight cousins.
