Archie Wilford Tyler passed away June 1, 2015. He spent the past few years of his life in the Hunter Hallow nursing home (West Valley City, Utah) where he died of natural cause's incident to age. He was born February 11, 1934 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the only child of John Wilford Tyler and Martha Marie Burmester. He attended Granite High School. Archie and Diane were married June 19, 1954 and later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. They made their home in Granger/ West Valley City, Utah where they raised their children. Archie had many jobs over his lifetime but spent nearly 20 years as a sheet metal worker for Stokermatic of Salt Lake City, then retired after another nearly 20 years as a sheet metal worker at Hill Air Force Base. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for most of his life. He served in various callings of the Granger 15th Ward including the bishopric. He also served on the Granger North Stake High Counsel. He is survived by his wife of nearly 61 years, Diane Weaver Tyler; children Kathy Lynn Atwood (Robert), Richard Dean (Cathy), David Wayne (Jody), Terry John, Dan Weaver (Taren), Lynda Marie Morrill (Scott) and Larry Michael; 18 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his son Mark. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 6, 2015, 11:00 a.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road where viewings will be held Friday, 6-8 p.m. and Saturday, 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Elysian Burial Gardens.
