Arnold Kay Parry

August 25, 1932 — March 17, 2016

Arnold Kay Parry, our devoted, loving, dedicated husband, father, son, brother, uncle, grandpa, great-grandpa and friend, joined his sweetheart in heaven on his lucky day, March 17, 2016. Born on August 25, 1932 to George Kendrick Parry and Rebecca Leone Miller, the youngest of 4 sons. He grew up in Herriman, Utah where he attended Jordan High School. He followed his father and brothers in serving his country in the United States Air Force. He married his eternal sweetheart, Colleen Rae Larsen, on December 14, 1956 in the Salt Lake Temple. He devoted his life to caring for her and his family. Together they raised six children, 27 grandchildren, and 36 great-grandchildren. Dad's greatest joy was celebrating birthdays! He will be remembered for the personalized and thoughtful birthday cards we all enjoyed receiving. He diligently and faithfully served his Heavenly Father in many church callings. He was a cowboy at heart, loving horses, John Wayne, Gene Autrey, Roy Rogers, Wagon Train, and all things western. He was the last of the Mohicans "Parry's". Preceded in death by his wife Colleen; parents; 3 brothers; and grandson, Kory Gallagher. Survived by children; Jeff (Colleen) Parry, Kayleen (Brad) Smith, Krista (Kevin) Gallagher, Kellie (Dan) Kenison, Kari (Jeff) Berry and Korin Hatch; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. He showed us how to focus on the most important things in life, the beauty of marriage and taking care of family (Family First!). He was the rock and foundation of our family. May his legend of love live on in each of us. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 22, 11:00 a.m., at Kearns 14th Ward, 4232 West 5015 South. Gatherings will be held Monday, March 21, 6-8:00 p.m., at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, and prior to services at the church on Tuesday, 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.
