Our loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and beloved husband, Arthur Bryan Denman, Jr., passed away at home on December 1, 2016. Arthur was born in Dallas, Texas, May 16, 1937 to proud parents Arthur Bryan Denman, Sr., and Marjory Cornelia Myers Denman. He loved learning and school from the beginning and graduated third in his class from Woodrow Wilson High School in January 1955. He was in the band playing the clarinet and participated in the ROTC program. While in Junior High he was a member of the local NRS Junior Rifle Club and was honored as one of the youngest Distinguished Riflemen. Keeping this interest into adulthood, he won many awards, trophies, and medals along the way, including competitions representing the Air Force. He attended Southern Methodist University and participated in their AFROTC program and after graduating with honors and a BS in Electrical Engineering, he joined the Air Force. Gaining the rank of Captain during his 15+ years of service working for the National Security Agency (NSA); attending Stanford for a Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science; then the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA); Pentagon, AF Security site near the Berlin Wall, a time in Turkey; Security Service Headquarters in San Antonio, Texas; ROTC instructor at BYU; and finally, surveillance squadron. After leaving the Air Force he worked as an Electrical Engineer Computer Specialist for the Federal Aviation Administration in Salt Lake City, retiring from there with 42 years of outstanding service in 2002. While in the Air Force he joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and loved serving the Lord in any capacity asked of him from primary to a Seventy, Cub Scout Leader, Scout Master, and serving as counselor in three different bishoprics. His love for the Lord is great as is his love of family. He is a man of deep loyalty and great integrity. While stationed in San Antonio, he always said "On Thanksgiving Day at a square dance I met the love of my life, Lucine (Luci) Denman." They were married October 10, 1970 in San Antonio and sealed in the Salt Lake Temple for time and all eternity in 1971, celebrating their 46th anniversary this year. He is preceded in death by his wonderful parents; in-laws; a brother, Robert L. Denman; a son-in-law, Darion Hazelzet; and survived by his sweetheart, Lucina; daughters Elizabeth Jane (Solomon) Myers Denman, Cindy Hazelzet, Debbie (Richard "Woody") Lemire; son David (Mary) Denman; 9 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren and loving friends.
