Our beloved father, grandfather, husband, and friend, Arthur Andrew Nelson (Andy), passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 7, 2025, at the age of 59. He was born on February 5, 1965, in Greene County, Tennessee, to James M. Nelson and Cheryl K. Nelson.
On June 8, 2018, Andy married the love of his life, Jackie Edelen-Gill. Their partnership was a beautiful testament to love and support.
Andy was a man who lived life with passion and purpose. His greatest joy came from spending time on his Harley-Davidson motorcycles, feeling the wind on his face and the freedom of the open road. But what truly filled his heart with love and pride was his family, especially his grandchildren. Andy treasured every moment spent with them, offering a sense of warmth and wisdom that only a loving grandfather could.
He is survived by his wife Jackie Edelen-Gill, mom Cheryl Nelson, 1 brother and 2 sisters, many nieces, nephews, his loving children: Jason Howells (Annie), Angela McClees (Jason), Jessica Hoblauch, and Jordan Gill. Andy’s grandchildren, to whom he gave his truest love: Dale Garrett, Camren & Braden Howells, Cheyenne McClees, Harley McClees, Tucker McClees, Kristin Moore, and Elizabeth Hoblauch.
He is preceded in death by his father James M Nelson.
Andy leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, wonderful memory, and the unshakable bonds of family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his memory will live on in the hearts of his loved ones forever. A celebration of life will be held on January 17, 2025, from 6-8 pm at Datus Archery, 7998 South 1300 West, West Jordan, Utah.
At a later date Andy will be given his last final ride by his son-in-law and best friend Jason McClees.
In honor of Andy’s love for motorcycles, we invite all guests to wear their favorite Harley shirt at his service. It will be a time to gather, share memories, and celebrate the incredible man that Andy was.
Rest in peace, Andy. You will always be loved, always remembered, and never forgotten.
