Arthur Thomas Nunn returned home to his Father in Heaven Wednesday, January 27, 2016. Arthur broke down any barrier put in his way by far exceeding his doctors expectations for his quality of life following a brain aneurysm in 2001. He fought long and hard over the past 15 years and his family was blessed to be given his quick wit and cute turn of phrase, we never left a visit with him without a smile on our face. Arthur was born October 14, 1944, the third child and second son of Marta-Elizabeth and William Gibby Nunn. He was a proud member of the US Air Force, serving in Turkey during the Vietnam War. He was an electrical engineer for Littons Guidance and Control where he met a ragtag group of men that all walked to the same beat of the drum. He also spent many years singing with the Salt Lake Symphonic Choir where he fostered his love of music. He was a gentle man that taught his children to stand for what you believe, the value of honest work for honest pay, the true value of a dollar, to always offer a helping hand to those in need, and to cherish the gifts God gives you. He was greeted in the arms of loved ones at the doors of heaven by his wife, DeAnn Lilly Nunn; daughter Tamera Lynn Nunn; parents; brothers, Allen Nunn and Jerry Nunn; and sister Sandra (Max) Romero. He will be infinitely missed by daughters, Cheryl Nunn Burrows, Cindy Ranae Nunn (Seth Harris) Bitner; son, Brian Thomas Nunn; and grandkids, Breckon Dean Burrows, Addison Thomas Burrows, Grayce Rose Bitner, Zayden Jared Nunn as well as countless other family members and friends. He has left a big hole that cannot be replaced. We want to offer a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Cowan, the staff, and residents of the William E. Christoffersen Salt Lake Veterans home; you created a second family and home that allowed our family to walk this journey with peace in our hearts. Funeral services will be held, Saturday, January 30, 2016, 1:00 p.m., at the William E. Christoffersen Salt Lake Veteran's Home, 700 South Foothill Blvd, Salt Lake City, UT 84113. Viewings will be held, Friday, January 29, 6-8:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, and Saturday prior to services, 12-12:45 p.m. Interment will be at Redwood Memorial Estates.
