Audrey Laura Matthews Liston passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2022. She was 92. Audrey was born November 14, 1930, in Richland Center, Wisconsin, to Bruce B and Ruth Jane Benjamin Matthews, the first of five children.
Audrey and her two daughters moved from the east coast to Utah in January 1967. She met and married her eternal companion, William Lunt Liston, in 1970. They were sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple on November 12, 1970.
Audrey worked in a variety of jobs, but best loved her time as a travel agent working in the industry for over 30 years. She loved to travel and visiting all seven continents and many, many countries.
She and dad volunteered at the Panda Preserve in Wolong, China, shortly before his death in 2007. Audrey fell in love with pandas when she was three years old. She was panda crazy and had a vast collection of all things panda. She returned to the preserve in 2010.
Audrey was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, joining the church in September 1964. She held many callings, but leading music and directing ward choirs was her favorite.
Audrey cherished time with her sweetheart and their family.
She is survived by her two daughters, Ruth (Rex) Morrey, Carole (Reed) Heslop and Bill's five children, LaMinda Madenwald, Debra (Bob) Wilde, Kelton (Jeneanne) Liston, Steven Liston and Clayton (LeAnn) Liston, twenty-five grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, sisters Betty (Daryl) Miller and Darlene Sheker.
She is preceded in death by her husband Bill, parents Bruce and Ruth Matthews, brother Gordon and sister Donna.
Special thanks to Rocky Mountain Hospice for their kindness in caring for Audrey in her final months.
Also a thank you to Truwood Assisted Living for all your love and care.
