Our lovely wife, mother, and grandmother, Audrey Mae King Brown, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2015, of natural causes. She was the daughter of Wallace C. King and Pauline A. King. Audrey loved living on her family's farm in beautiful Floyd County. She grew up wanting to be a pharmacist, but decided instead to complete a teaching degree. She taught elementary school for several years. Audrey spent a summer during World War II in Washington, D.C., researching information for letters sent to soldiers' families. In 1947, she married George H. Brown. They have two sons, Mike and Jerry. In 1959, the family moved to Utah because of a job transfer. Audrey was an incredible cook, always making sure that her family enjoyed their special treats for holidays and birthdays. She especially enjoyed making those treats with her granddaughter, Elizabeth, whom she loved dearly. Audrey was a woman of faith and lived her life in service to others. Audrey was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Kate E. King; brothers, Earl W. King and Edward L. Wimmer; and sister, Mary Ann Peters. She is survived by her husband, George; sons, Mike (Janet) Brown and Jerry (Pam) Brown; granddaughter, Elizabeth (Scott) Howell; sisters, Gwinn Angle and Sarah (Donnie) Quesenberry; brothers, Sid (Margaret) Wimmer, Richard (Linda) Wimmer and John (Sandy) King; sister-in-law, Mary A. Clark; and many wonderful family members, neighbors, and friends. The family thanks all those who have cared for, visited, called, or sent cards to George and Audrey for their love and support. A special thanks to Karena Woodhead for her loving care. A visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, March 1, 2015, at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road in Taylorsville.
