Barbara M. Mackay died peacefully at her home on June 21, 2018. She was born on June 18, 1922 to Leonard Mackay and Wilma Fay Atwood in Taylorsville, Utah. She married Thomas Raymond Mackay on December 1, 1941 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Lifelong resident of Taylorsville, Utah. Active member of LDS Church serving in many callings. Faithful visiting teacher for over 70 years and temple worker for 22 years in the Jordan River Temple. Member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers for 66 years. Preceded in death by husband; parents; sisters, Ruth Arleen (James) Johansen, Joyce Ann (John) Owens, Phyllis Jane, Maxine Melissa (Donald) Oakeson and Wilma June (Wallace) Naylor; brother Leonard Keith (Annette) Mackay; grandson-in-law, John Daren Smith; great-grandchildren, Olivia Mackay, Randle Peterson and Thomas Peterson. Survived by sons Lynn Ray (Anna Lee) and Randy Thomas (Kristine); daughter, Myrna (Stephen) Emery; brother Stanford (Loy) Mackay; 16 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-granddaughters. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 29, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Harvestland Ward, 3020 West 4700 South, West Valley City, Utah. A viewing will be held Thursday, June 28, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Friday prior to the services from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Interment at Valley View Memorial Park.
