Barbara Nielson Steffee

Barbara Nielson Steffee passed away August 28, 2016. She was born November 11, 1944 to Lott and Maurine Nielson in Huntington, Utah. After graduating from North Emery High she ran off to the big city (Salt Lake) to attend the University of Utah where she met and married Harold Steffee and had two daughters, Jennifer and Susan. After starting work at the Salt Lake City Public Library she did everything from shelving books to cataloging. As befitting a lifelong learner, she went back to college and got her Masters of Library Science. She returned to her roots to work at the College of Eastern Utah library, eventually taking over as Director until she retired. After work was done she enjoyed taking trips where she could, whether going on a cruise or just a drive out to Wendover. She loved movies -especially scary ones- and reading on her Kindle, plus spending time with her kids, her cats Sammy and Spike, and friends. Per her wishes there will be no viewing or formal funeral, though there will be a gathering for family and friends Thursday, September 1st at Piper Down in Salt Lake City at 7pm.
