Barbara Frances Douglas Torres

Barbara Frances Torres passed away March 18, 2017 due to natural causes. She was born in Ponka City, Oklahoma and raised in Webb City, Missouri. She is survived by the love of her life, her husband, Carlos R. Torres, who she married in the Salt Lake Temple for time and all eternity. Also survived by her children Charles Thad Torres (Brenda), Bradley Scott Torres (Megan), Nichole Margo Chisholm (Kevin); grandchildren, Tyler Dutson, Niki Archer, Jacob Dutson, Chelsea Bohacek, Alisia Lamb, Dylan Chisholm, Teayzsha Selin, Teran Selin, Danielle Chisholm (serving in the Kansas Wichita Mission), Shelby Chisholm, Jade Torres, Alyza Chisholm, Aiden Torres; 5 great-grandchildren. To her best friend Myrna, "She'll be waiting for you". To my children she said "I expect nothing more than for you to endure to the end." To my grandchildren, "Return with honor." Her greatest joys were the Lord Jesus Christ, her husband, children and grandchildren. She loved good books, poetry and her favorite music was classical music. She was an active member of the LDS Church filling many callings but she especially loved teaching Sunday School, which she did for over 25 years. She had a firm strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. She never wavered in her faith and taught her children to do the same. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 24, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at Taylorsville 38th Ward, 4310 South 3200 West. Viewings will be held Thursday, 6-8:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and again prior to services at the church from 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
