Bernice Davis Together Forever Bernice June Nelson Davis passed away peacefully at the age of 84 on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 in Salt Lake City, Utah after a courageous battle with cancer. Born March 25, 1928 to Nels Peter and Lily Bailey Nelson in Salt Lake City, Utah, the sixth of seven children. Married Donald Barton Davis, Sr. on March 17, 1950 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were the parents of five children. Bernice was known for her candy making skills, especially her panoramic Easter eggs. She worked for Sears, Fernwood s, Valora s and The Candy Company but her most loved occupation was that of wife, mother and grandmother. Bernice had a beautiful smile that radiated her kind spirit to all she met. She had many close friends and loved spending time with friends and family. Even when faced with adversity, Bernice had an incredible sense of humor. A remarkable caregiver, her family s happiness and needs were her joy and greatest desire. She taught us all so much. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Morris, Dr. Kolc and the nurses and staff at CareSource for their compassionate and loving care of our mom in the past few weeks and months. She is survived by sons: Don Jr., Lynn (Tina), Scott (Linda); daughter, Christine (Mike) Taylor; 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth Ross; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by husband, Don; son, Michael Paul Davis; brothers, Arvel Nelson, Ernest Nelson, Clifford Nelson; sisters, Irene Shaffer and Eleanor Jensen. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 2, 2012, 12 noon at the Grandview 2nd Ward, 2930 South 2000 East. Friends and family may call from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the church.
