Bernina Helen Krey Kehl, a constant example of charity and Christlike love, passed away on June 7, 2016 at the age of 96. She was born on August 16, 1919 to Robert Herman Krey and Anna Maria Beutler in Ogden, Utah. She was the last surviving family member of her generation. Bernina married Alma Edward Kehl on May 1, 1939 and together they lived a life of service and built a powerful legacy of love, faith and family. They served together in the California, Oakland mission from 1977 to 1979. She served in various church callings throughout her life and ceaselessly sought to care for the needs of others. She met with challenges at a very early age, losing her father when she was two years old and her mother when she was thirteen. Mother often expressed loving appreciation for her Uncle John, Aunt Anna and their family who welcomed mom into their home and treated her as one of their own. Her life stands as a monument to unconditional love and acceptance. Everyone who has had the privilege of knowing our mother on this earth loves and adores her. She lived a life of selflessness and so patiently and gracefully endured to the end, blessing many lives along the way. She always expressed deep appreciation for wonderful neighbors and dear friends. She has a great love for her nieces and nephews and they love their aunt Nin! Mother is survived by her five children, Dale (Sharron) Kehl, Karen (Roy) Geis, Roger (Clara) Kehl, David Kehl, Alaine (Lance) Merchant. She loved as her own Jolene Cooney who lived in our home for many years. She made sure each of her 19 grandchildren felt like they were her favorite and she is blessed to have 57 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
