Our loving mother, grandmother and wife, Betsy Jane Jensen Dutt, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her loving family, on May 24, 2014, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She married Russell Dutt March 1, 1953 on a snowy day in Buhl, Idaho and later their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. They then moved to Kearns where they bought their first house and raised their 6 children. They have established friendships during their time there that have lasted decades and will continue through the eternities. She loved her family unconditionally as they were the center of her life. She loved spending time with them and making a connection that only a mother/grandmother would understand. Mom loved to bake, and the treats she created were favorites of all who came to see her and no one ever left empty handed. It was this type of love that made her the great woman we all knew her as. She lived life on her terms, her family was often reminded of her Danish heritage and her age and that would conclude the conversation. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served diligently in all the positions she was called to, and has blessed countless lives during her service. She was a gifted pianist and loved any opportunity to play the piano or organ. She played for all types of programs, but her favorite was playing for the Primary children. She loved the sound of children voices and hearing the sweet message that only they could deliver. Her contagious smile, sweet spirit and aura of genuine love will leave a host of friends, family and neighbors grateful for her life and the countless blessing that come from having known her and look forward to being with her in the hereafter. She is survived by her adoring husband of 61 years, Russell Dutt; their children: Sharon (Steve) Snarr, Cheryl (Larry) Hansen, Jane (Ron) Casper, Julie (Al) Lozano, John (Stacey) Dutt, Kevin (Dana) Dutt; 22 grandchildren and 55 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, brothers and sisters and granddaughter. The family would like to thank Dr. Justin Call and his compassionate staff, and the staff at Millcreek Hospice for the care they provided to her. She was treated with the love, care and dignity she deserving of. A celebration of her life will be held Friday, May 30, 2014, 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Stake Center, 4260 West 5215 South.
