Betty Berg

Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, and faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Elizabeth (Betty) Anne Durette Gidoll Berg passed away on January 3, 2022 in Florida. Born in Maine to Ralph and Patricia Paul Durette on May 24, 1941, she was raised with her older brother David in California. She married Bruce Gidoll in 1960 and moved to Utah where her first child was born. She married Ray Berg in 1971, where they then had 8 children. She worked for the Bureau of Reclamation as a secretary for many years, retiring at age 70 and moved to Georgia. Two years ago, she moved to Florida.

Betty is survived by her 9 children, Carolyn (Greg) Johnson, David (Shena), Sue (Jaimie) Grover, Daren, Dean, Debbie (Nathan) Larsen, Kathy (preceded in death by Mario) Moreno, Alan (Sabreena) Khan, and Steven. She is also survived by her 6 grandchildren, Chase, Ross, Benny, Straton, Phineas and Francis and the newest addition, great-granddaughter Ezlynn.

She always loved kids and was a proud mother and grandmother. Betty loved life and lived life to the fullest, even after Alzheimer’s started to take over. She had a smile and kind words for everyone she met and showed unconditional love and selfless giving.

Betty is now free of any earthly pain and celebrating in heaven. We all can’t wait to play Parchesi again with you mom, even though you always won!

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 11, 2022, 1:30 p.m. at Westbrooke 7^th Ward, 6364 South 3200 West, where a viewing will be held Monday, January 10^th, 6-8:00 p.m. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park. Services under the direction of McDougal Funeral Home.
