Betty Jean Buhler Pender

Betty Jean Buhler Pender , of South Salt Lake City, UT, age 91, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2018. She was born on August 18, 1927 to Orson E. Buhler and Florence E. McAllister Buhler. She had six siblings; Robert (deceased), Charlotte "Chick" (deceased), Joan, Clara "Bunny", twins Ray (deceased) and infant brother Jay (deceased). She graduated from West High School in June of 1942. She served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Western States Mission. After returning home from her mission she was employed by the LDS church. Betty developed a passion for genealogy research and spent countless hours researching her ancestor's line and assisted many others in that endeavor. She married the love of her life Osborne "Oz" M. Pender on September 16, 1960 in the Salt Lake City Temple. They were blessed with three children. Betty served as the Relief Society President along with many other church callings. She is survived by her daughter Jill (Dean) Adams and son Ben (Carrie) Pender; grandchildren Cody (Katie) Pender; Cooper Pender and Hunter Plese; great-grandchildren, Carson, Connor and Kinley Pender. Betty was preceded in death by "Oz" Pender and her son , Rex Pender. A viewing will be held Wednesday, September 12th, 6:00-8:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S. Redwood Rd, Taylorsville, UT. Funeral services will be Thursday, September 13th, 11:00 a.m. with a viewing from 10-11:00 a.m. at the Kimball Ward, 2280 South 300 East, South Salt Lake, UT. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 S. Redwood Rd., West Jordan, UT.
