Beverly Jean Garrick Bobbitt

March 16, 1933 — April 12, 2021

BEVERY JEAN GARRICK BOBBITT

Beverly J. Bobbitt returned to the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on April 12, 2021 at the age of 88. She passed peacefully at home, with her mind and feistiness intact.  She was surrounded by her loving family and her beloved dog, Billy by her side.

Beverly was born March 16, 1933 in Ridgeway, Colorado. Daughter of Robert James Garrick and Florence Elmina (Long) Garrick.

Beverly started working at a young age to help provide for her family.  She later started a career and retired from OC Tanner.  Beverly married Larry Bobbitt on May 6, 1955.  They enjoyed many years of traveling, camping, fishing with family and friends, and loving their fur-babies.

She was a social butterfly and could talk to anybody.  She was never afraid to ask anyone a question, and most importantly was always able to make someone laugh or smile.  She made long lasting friendships with her bowling leaguers, fellow Bingo players, Wendover goers, co-workers from OC Tanner, as well as the Harman Senior Recreation Center where she sang with the Notable Angels choir.  They performed at functions for seniors and had a Christmas special every year, much to her family’s enjoyment. Aunt Bev was always up for an adventure.  She spent some of the best times of her life being very active.  She never missed supporting her family and friends in their endeavors and never passed up an opportunity to go to a family birthday party, BBQ, wedding, graduation, baby shower, concert, or her nephew’s hockey games.  If she was not on the go, she liked to watch movies, old and new, sitcoms and gameshows, and she would sing to anyone who was listening and was always able to cheer someone up.

Beverly was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and made many friends in her ward and always looked forward to their visits.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings; and husband.  She is survived by nieces and nephews; Deb (Monte) Montgomery; Gregory (Sharon) McLaughlin; Shana (Mike) Empey; Brent (Ida) McLaughlin; John (Kae) Garrick; Bonnie Garrick; Bob (Janelle) Carroll; Mike Carroll; and Keith (Brooke) Carroll as well as many great-nieces and nephews; and even a few great-great nieces and nephews.  Beverly and Larry didn’t have children of their own, so they spent a lot of time with their nieces and nephews and Aunt Bev became a second mother and grandmother to her family.

We would like to extend our deepest thanks to Aspire Homecare, especially Shelly; Jessica; and Kaylee; caregivers; Melinda and Taiana; the friends that surrounded Beverly from her neighborhood, as well as the many other friends and family that helped care for our loving aunt.

She was loved by so many.

Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free.

I’m following the path God laid for me.

I took his hand when I heard him call.

I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day,

To laugh, to love, to work, or play.

Tasks left undone must stay that way,

I found that peace at the start of day.

If my parting has left a void,

then fill it with remembered joy.

A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,

As yes, these things I too will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow.

My life’s been full, I savored much.

Good friends, good times, my loved one’s touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief.

Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.

Lift up your hearts and share with me.

God wanted me now, He set me free.

“Love is all there is” was one of Beverly’s favorite quotes and she wanted everyone to know she loved them very much.

You will be greatly missed, Aunt Bevy. We love you forever and always.
