"Beloved Father" Blair Wood, 86, our loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away June 10, 2014, with his loving wife by his side, after a 6 year valiant battle with Multiple Myeloma. We are comforted to know he is in the presence of our Savior and many loved ones. Truly it can be said, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant." Blair was born November 26, 1927, the son of John and Martha Wood in Hurricane, Utah, where he grew up with his brothers and sister. He had great friends and was elected Student Body President at Hurricane High. Blair served our country in the US Navy from 1948-52; an LDS mission to the Central Atlantic States; and then graduated from BYU with a Bachelor's Degree. He was employed with Hercules Inc. for 28 years. He married the love of his life, the beautiful and bubbly Swedish girl, Birgitta Sjoberg, November 12, 1960, in the St. George Temple. Together they cherished 53 wonderful years together. Throughout his illness she has taken care of him with passion, devotion and love. Blair is remembered for his non-materialistic, yet generous, selfless spirit, his beautiful garden and fruit tree orchard which he carefully cultivated to share with others, for serving honorably as a home teacher, for his soups and gravy, and for many countless hours of service he rendered to neighbors and friends. He was gifted with his hands and used this talent to improve his home for his family. He loved the outdoors and traveling the world. He knew that he was a son of God and strived to live the teachings of Jesus Christ every day of his life. He was a dedicated servant of the Lord and served faithfully in many callings. Blair loved the church hymns, the scriptures and the temple where he enjoyed serving. Dad was a great example to many and always had a strong testimony of the gospel. Blair is survived by his wife, Birgitta; children: DeAnn (Brian) Bawden, Rebecca (Kelley) Haggard, Jennifer (Ryan) Wiechman and Marlan (Joanna) Wood; daughter-in-law, Lourie; brothers, Gordon Wood, Warner Wood and Arlington Wood; and many nieces and nephews. He will never be forgotten by his 15 grandchildren: David, Todd, Chalise, Andriel, Ryleigh, Sydney, Dominic, Eric, Rachel, Madalyn, Michael, Matthew, Austin, Ashlynn and Emmett. We are comforted to know he was met on the other side of the veil by his parents; valiant son, Ronald Wood; sisters, Verlyn Stout, Pauline and Lois and brother, Bryant; as well as many other family members. Blair will be deeply missed and will be forever in our hearts. We are grateful to Dr. McPherson, Chelsea, Audrey, Chris, Alexis and Russ for their loving care in his final days. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Perpetual Education Fund. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates. Place of Birth:Hurrican, Utah
