Bonnie Belle Davis Pettersson

"Gran" After a full life of faith and service to others, our mom Bonnie Pettersson passed away peacefully at her home on August 11, 2018, at the age of 92. Bonnie's life was defined by family and faith. To know her was to be loved by her. She is remembered for her perpetual acts of humble charity. Bonnie was born February 9, 1926 to Reuben and Martha Davis in Hunter, Utah. She married Matthew Marrington Pettersson, Jr. on August 8, 1944 in the Logan Utah Temple. Bonnie and Matt made their home in Hunter, Utah, and were loving parents to 9 children. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Bonnie served in many capacities, including Regional Relief Society President responsible for the cleaning and preparation for the first dedication of the Jordan River Utah Temple. From Primary to visiting teacher, every calling saw the same selfless devotion. Bonnie had a passion for researching family history, and was a proud member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. On any given day, her kitchen table was topped with a neat stack of old photos, journals and handwritten notes - which she'd happily push aside to serve you a slice of cake or a scoop of ice cream. Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband Matt; and her daughter Patty. She is survived by Joanne (Marsha Worthen) Pettersson, Sandra Ahlquist, Matthew "Bus" Marrington (Julie) Pettersson III, Kim (Garth) Goates, Echo (Max) Thomsen, Alice (Vyrl) Bangerter, Jeri (Jeffrey) Newton, Josh (Cindy) Pettersson; 29 grandchildren; 70 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great- grandchild. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 17, 2018 at 10:00 am, at the LDS Church located at 3745 South 6400 West, West Valley City, Utah. Viewings will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2018 from 5:00 8:00 pm at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, and from 9:00 9:45 am prior to the funeral at the church.
