1939 – 2020
Bonnie (Richardson) Stephens, 80, passed away May 14, 2020 in a care center due to complications of Covid 19. She was the “Unsinkable Molly Brown” according to her sweetheart, Blair. Her children and grandchildren knew there was nothing short of a world-wide pandemic that would stop her. As with so many things in her life, Bonnie looked upon this next step with no fear.
Bonnie was born September 9, 1939 to Justin Veryl and Hortense (Earl) Richardson in Salt Lake City, Utah. She graduated from Granite High School. She was outstanding in every occupation she secured. She was always a hard worker, determined and driven. Unable to attend college when she was young, she insisted that all of her children complete college degrees, for which they are forever grateful!
Bonnie is preceded in death by her husband and lifelong Phweetie, Blair Kenner Stephens, and grandson, Stephen Blair Bruening. She is survived by her children Michelle (Val) Hubbard, Michael (Sherrilann) Stephens, Christine Stephens, Jeanne (Rob) Bruening, honorary daughter Julie (Dale) Elison, and second family who she lovingly referred to as, the Julies: Rosa, Julio and Julito. The “Julies”, her Chilean family, loved and cared for her for the past five years. They were instrumental in ensuring she had a long, healthy and active life, allowing her to remain in her home which was her greatest desire. She will be missed by her children, grandchildren, large extended family and friends.
