Boyd Marcroft Burbidge

Passed away at the age of 87, Saturday, March 11, 2017 surrounded by loved ones. His body was tired and he was ready to go home. Born January 12, 1930 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Talmage Brinton Burbidge and Mildred Aileen Marcroft. He served a two year mission in the Texas-New Mexico Spanish American Mission. He had a great love for the people and the missionaries he served with, and was looking forward to spending some time with them on their next reunion on March 31st. He was able to revisit his mission with one of his companions, Jack Nixon in 2015. Boyd was an active member of the LDS Church and faithfully served in many positions. One of his favorites was working with Carol as a Temple Worker in the Jordan River Temple. He served as a Marine in the United States Marine Corp. Semper Fi!!! Boyd and Carol were married in the Los Angeles Temple August 23, 1956. They spent 55 years together before her passing in 2011. Boyd loved his daughters and their families. He enjoyed making memories with them and loved spending time with his grandchildren. Boyd and Carol have 5 daughters: Nadine (Kerry) Stanley, Sharon (Don) Maxwell, Judi (Cory) Wade, Cathy (David) Howell, Kelly (Jack) Barlow; 21 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren. The family would like to express a deep gratitude and thanks for dad's care givers, Patti and Collette Maldonado we appreciate them bringing dad into their lives and showing great love. He was happy in their care. Dad enjoy that sweet reunion in Heaven! Love you Mostest and Bestest!!!! Funeral services will be Friday, March 17, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at the Centennial Park Ward, 3372 South Merry Lane (5275 W.). Friends and family are invited to attend a viewing on Thursday, March 16th, 6-8:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Friday at the church from 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Utah Veterans Memorial Park.
