Our beloved father, husband, son, brother, uncle, friend, and most recent cherished title of grandpa, Brent D Scovill, returned to his Heavenly Home on Feb. 23, 2017. Brent was born to Devon and Wilma Scovill on October 19, 1978, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was an Eagle Scout and graduated with honors from Taylorsville High School. He married Jennifer Garrett on June 13, 1998. He worked for Sizzling Platter for many years. Brent was the current manager for Ruby River Steakhouse in Salt Lake City where he has worked for the past ten years. His life was filled with his family and friends; his kids were his world. Brent had a big heart and was an instant friend to all he met. He always made sure everyone was included, having fun, and as said by so many, he was the life of the party! He has touched countless lives during his time on this earth. He was a mentor and a brother to many. Brent loved to hunt, fish, and spend time with his family making memories at the lake. He loved to travel and especially loved going to Mexico. He was known for making the perfect steak, and you knew how lucky you were when you got one! Brent was artistic, and if he did not know how to do it, he would learn and then succeed at it. He was thoughtful, kind, and giving. He liked to surprise you by going above and beyond when you would least expect it. Like his dad, he is a collector of everything and if you needed a deal he would negotiate it or find it at thrift stores, D.I., or KSL. He always loved a good challenge just for fun and laughs and somehow convinced people to do them, especially his Carolina Reaper challenge! Brent is known to be the University of Utah Ute's biggest fan, his highlight was to be able to cater meals for the team and attend their games. He is survived by his wife Jennifer Garrett Scovill, who he blessed with four beautiful children, McKenna, Jaxon, Myleigh, and Saddler; granddaughter, Harlowe; parents, Devon and Wilma Scovill; Jennifer's parents, Ted and Barbara Garrett; brothers and sisters, Shane (Etsuko) Scovill, Trudy (Kirk) Schamens, Jerry (Brenda) Scovill, Linda (Eli) Steele, Debra (Mike) Hadlock, Geri (Rich) Franz, Jon Garrett, Laurie (Lisa), Misty (Jeff) Barnett, and Leeann (Bart) Anderson; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elmer and Elva Scovill, and Byron and Frieda Young. Please join us in paying respects to Brent dressed in your Ute's gear or by wearing red from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday Feb. 28, at 1555 W. Lovely Road in Taylorsville. A memorial service will be held at the same address at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 1. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Donation account for Jennifer Scovill at any Cyprus Credit Union location. Brent, you are loved by so many and we will cherish your memories forever.
