The family of Brett R. Provost announces with heartfelt sorrow his peaceful passing on March 7, 2024, in West Valley City, Utah, at the age of 54. Born on February 9, 1970, in Salt Lake City, Utah, Brett was a beloved father, brother, and friend, known for his dedication, humor, and generous spirit.
Brett will be lovingly remembered by his children, Sean and Kailey Provost; stepchildren, Alex and Angela Hess; and his grandson, Nicholas Hess. He also leaves behind their mother, Amy Provost; sister and brother-in-law, GeNay and Eric McIntosh; nephew, Conor McIntosh; and brothers and sister-in-law, Cody, Robbie, and Heidi Hogan, along with niece and nephew Monica and Mick Hogan.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Genny West and Fred Provost, and he is now reunited with them and his grandparents, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousin who have gone before him.
Brett's professional life was spent in the printing industry, where he was respected as a skilled printer operator and supervisor. His commitment to his work was paralleled only by his commitment to his family and his love for life.
An enthusiast of the outdoors and sports, Brett was a dedicated fan of the 49ers and Utes. His hobbies included the intricate crafts of macramé and boondoggle, and he found joy and relaxation in solving sudoku puzzles and watching the latest movies and television shows.
A traditional Celebration of Life will be held on May 25, 2024, where family and friends will gather to honor Brett's memory. His kind heart, quick wit, and the support he offered to everyone around him will be deeply missed.
