Brigham Robert Young

Brigham Robert Young, 75, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away unexpectedly April 8, 2015 in West Valley City, Utah. Born May 29, 1939 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Lawrence Jefferson Young and Mary Hazel Murray. Married Mary Anne Jones on June 20, 1963 in the Salt Lake Temple. He graduated from Cyprus High School in 1958. He proudly served as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne, US Army. He was a Retired Letter Carrier and a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers. Survived by his wife and five children: Sherry (Douglas) Peacock, Susie (Andy) Mellor, Bryan (Lori) Young, Shauna (Kevin) Koss, Robert Young.; 11 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; siblings Beth Barker, Gay Wilson, Ernie Young and many nieces and nephews, and his faithful companion Sima. Preceded in death by parents; 2 brothers; 2 brothers-in-law, and a sister-in-law. At age 14 he lost his mother and was taken in by his sister Beth and her husband Richard. Their children Beth Ann, Richie, and Larry became like a sister and brothers. His life and those of his family have been richly blessed by this act of love. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 14, 2015, 11:00 a.m. at the Peachwood LDS Ward, 3963 S. Peachwood Drive (3480). A Viewing will be held Monday, April 13, 6-8:00 p.m. and again Tuesday, 10-10:45 a.m. also at the church. Interment: Valley View Cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of McDougal Funeral Home.
