Bruce Burton Wilson

May 3, 1942 — June 3, 2017

Bruce Burton Wilson was born May 3, 1942, to Ernest Irvin Wilson and June Burton Wilson in San Diego, California. Though he was born in California, he was raised in the family home built by his great-grandfather in Nephi, Utah. His childhood was something right out of a Norman Rockwell paintingriding his horse, playing with his dog, feeding the turkeys, working in the feed-mill, watching the parades on main street, attending the rodeos, being a small-town high school sports herohe truly grew up in small town USA. Bruce was a very loving husband, father, son and brother. He was an AMAZING grandfather who loved his grandchildren beyond measure. His grandchildren fondly remember sleep overs, tea parties, kitchen table "piano" sing-alongs, blanket forts in the family room, playing various board games especially Boggle, road trips to Yellowstone, Christmas morning breakfast complete with his Wilson Special omelet and "Grandpa's" Bacon. He loved his three step-sons as though they were his very own. He and his wife Pam enjoyed traveling, especially cruising and visiting places such as The Panama Canal, The South Pole, South America, Falkland Islands, Scotland, Ireland, Iceland, Greenland, Russia and Scandinavia. He was proud to say he had visited all 50 states and every continent, except Africa. After the passing of their father Ernest, he and his siblings were devoted to the well-being and happiness of their mother, June. He was an honest businessman and loyal boss to his employees, many of whom were with him for 40+ years. He had been President of Utah Foam Products since 1981 and worked alongside his father and brother in advancing business applications for urethane foam. He was a member of the Juab High School back-to-back basketball championship teams from 1959-60, held the State of Utah basketball tournament scoring record, and was a high school All-American and received multiple college scholarship offers. In December 2014, he along with his teammates became the inaugural members of the Juab School District Ring of Honor. He cherished his high school classmates and looked forward to their reunions with much joy. Bruce spent most of his adult life living in Salt Lake City, but his heart always belonged to his beloved home of Nephi. Bruce is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Pam; his children, Keri (Guy) Johnson, Kristi (Bob) Thrasher, Don (Trish) Austin, David (Henny) Austin, and Daniel Austin; his grandchildren, Heather (Jared) Dunn, Michelle (Michael) Lancaster, Katie Harris and Ryan Thrasher; great-grandchildren Wyatt Dunn and Katie Lancaster; his sister Colleen (David) Witt, brother Lynn (Debbie) Wilson; many nieces and nephews; along with very special friends Chad, Tanya, Aiden, Teegen and Quinn Martin.
