C. Ray VanLeuven 1935 ~ 2013 Our loving father, grandfather and husband, C. Ray Van Leuven, of West Jordan Utah, died December 23, 2013 at his home in West Jordan, Utah. Ray was born April 29, 1935 in Tacoma Park, MD to C. Ray and Vera Johnson Van Leuven. When he was 14 years old, Ray lost his father to heart disease and helped his mother move her family of three boys to Vernal, UT where he spent the rest of his youth. Ray served an honorable church mission in the Netherlands from 1955-1958. After returning home, he met the love of his life, Jeanine Eldredge, and they were married April 23, 1959 in the Salt Lake Temple. Ray graduated in the new field of Computer Science at Weber State College and began his career with the State of Utah as a valued computer programmer. He dutifully served in various church callings including ward clerk, stake sunday school superintendent, ward and stake missionary and high councilman. He was a man known well for his faith, his obedience and his absolute dependability. Ray is survived by his wife, Jeanine Van Leuven; daughters: Lauri (David) Hinton, Valerie (Kent) Ockey, Amber (Tyler) Barrus; son Jerry (Cathi) Van Leuven; 17 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; brother, Dale Van Leuven. We express gratitude to the staff of Summit Hospice for their tender care of our dear husband and father. Funeral arrangements will be held Saturday, December 28, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at the Taylorsville 12th Ward, 4505 South 3420 West. Viewings will be held Friday, December 27, 2013, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood and Saturday at the church, 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Taylorsville Cemetery.
