Loving husband, father and grandfather Carl C. Jamalkowski, died peacefully in his home on April 3, 2014, with family by his side. He fought Alzheimer's along with diabetes and heart related issues for many years. Carl was born in Batavia, New York,on January 19, 1935. He is the son of the late Stanley and Mary (Brzeczkowski) Jamialkowski. He graduated from Batavia High School in 1952. From October 1954, until October 1957, he served in the United States Army. Carl began his career as a Correction Officer at Attica Correctional Facility in January of1959. On April 1, 1967, he married the love of his life, Rose Marie Loncz. This year they celebrated their 47th anniversary. Together they hadfour children; Eric, Lora (George) Haines, Susan (Jason) Morgan and John (Laura Clark). In 1992, after 34 years of employment, Carl decided it was time to enjoy his retirement. Carl and Rose took many day trips along with an annual drive to Utah, where they would visit their children and grandchildren (Calvin, Mason, Kelley, Emily, Amy, Keygan, Stephanie, Chloe, Katelyn and Kyler). Carl was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Batavia, New York,and in West Jordan, Utah. He was also a member of the Polish Falcons, the Batavia Coin Club, and the YMCA, where he enjoyed water aerobics with Rose and friends. In his free time, he loved going to garage sales, making pizzas, and he would never pass up an opportunity to get Chinese food! Carl also loved animals. He had fish, a frog, gerbils, guinea pigs and several dogs over the years. To many he was known as Jamo, Kotch, The Candy Man, Cookie Man, Papa J, or Cheese & Pepperoni Man. Surviving are Genevieveand Florence Jamalkowski (sisters), Ray (DA) Jamalkowski (brother), Frank (Betty) Loncz (brother-in-law), nieces, nephews and cousins. Carl was a brother to the late Henry, Stephen, Victor, Stanley, Leo and Irene. A private burial ceremony will be held at the Veteran's Cemetery for immediate family. Memorials may be made to the Intermountain Foundation for Home Care and Hospice, 2250 S. 1300 W., S.L.C., Utah, 84119, in memory of Carl C. Jamalkowski.
