Carol Susan Norman Brown

May 8, 1949 — March 21, 2019

Carol Susan Brown, age 69, passed away peacefully March 21, 2019 in West Jordan, Utah. This unfortunate event has occurred after a year-long battle with cancer. She was born May 8, 1949, in Fresno, California. Carol Susan Norman is the daughter of Amos and Frances Norman. She was happily married to her sweetheart, Steve Brown on October 17, 1970.

Carol loved to serve people. Willingly with a song in her heart, she was constantly serving others whenever it was needed. She always kept busy. She was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many roles for the church, all in which she did diligently with joy. She loved going to the temple as often as possible. The temple brought great comfort and peace in her life. She served in the temple for many years with her husband. She especially enjoyed working on genealogy. She often spoke of her love for her ancestors, and how they had been a driving force in her in genealogy work. She loved to practice the piano, and in recent years taught herself how to play the accordion. She loved her family and her grandchildren. She was known to throw fun family parties like Hawaiian luaus, or, circus themed events in her backyard. She was a loving mother who taught her kids to not judge others and love others, as ye would love yourself. She believed, serving others is how you showed your love of the creator, Heavenly Father. She always put others above herself.

Carol enjoyed learning. She attended Rick’s College in Idaho prior to meeting her husband Steve. Carol continued learning many things. For example, attempting to learn several languages, deeply learning family history, and many other life skills, like gardening. She loved working in the garden and taught herself how to grow many types of fruits and vegetables. She also taught herself to sew and spent many hours at the sewing machine making items for humanitarian projects.

Carol’s work career consisted in raising five children as a stay at home mother. Later in life, for many years, Carol worked at Rata School, in the Fresno school district. Her job was working with severely handicap children. She saw the sweet spirits in each of these children and grew to love them as her own. This type of work suited her giving heart. Carol always believed in doing the right thing. She was kind to everyone who came into her life and was their friend. Her life was a living example of Bible verse John 15:12 “This is my commandment, that ye love one another, as I have loved you.”

Carol is survived by: her beloved husband Steve; her brothers Robert and Richard Norman; also by her three sons and her two daughters: Michael (Anwar), Brian, Jason, Michele, and Heather. Along with her 9 grandchildren she adored: Ashley, Haylee, Kaylen, Kira, Chloe, Gavin, Reza, Aziz, and Jakob. Carol also left many nephews and nieces; all of these she loved and had touched deeply.
