Carol Verree' Wightman McCleve returned to her Heavenly Father on March 7, 2024. She was born on January 18, 1933, to Mark and Beth Wightman, in Goshen, Utah. She married her sweetheart, James Duane McCleve for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple, on February 26, 1951. They built a beautiful and happy life together. They have 6 children; 4 boys and 2 girls. Verree' was a kind and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She taught her family and posterity life-long lessons of selfless sacrifice, service, and love. She was a dedicated servant in her faith, in her numerous callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She never doubted her faith. She stayed strong, even through trials, and loved the gospel of Jesus Christ with all of her heart and soul.
Verree' also deeply loved, and was immensely loyal to her family. She was very protective of them. She loved unconditionally, and was always there to offer a helping hand, or loving encouragement. She was an amazing cook, making many meals from scratch, and was known for her delicious homemade bread. She created gorgeous flower arrangements for her family home, was a very talented seamstress, had a beautiful flower garden, and an amazing green thumb. She maintained a beautiful Christ centered home, that invited a warm and peaceful spirit.
The last few years of her life, fighting through dementia, and Alzheimer's, she always found a way to smile, and be happy, never complaining. Her stunning sparkling blue eyes, and her sweet smile lit up brightly when she saw her loved ones. As the illness progressed, and she could no longer speak, she would smile, often making silly faces, and singing without words, to express her joy, or to bring joy to those around her. As weak and frail as her body was, the day before she passed, she continued sharing her cheerful, loving spirit.
Her sweet spirit, and loving kindness will be missed beyond measure. Our angel is now free and at peace, in the arms of her Savior and loved ones who passed before her.
She was preceded in death by her parents Mark and Beth, husband Duane, son David, and grandson Tyler.
Survived by five of her children Randy (Karen), Cindy (Dave), Linda, Doug (Shaunna), Lisa, Kelly (Annette); 25 grandchildren, 67 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.
We will cherish the day we see her again. Thank you Momma. We love you.
Special thank you to the numerous caregivers who treated her with love, kindness, respect and dignity, through her difficult journey.
