Our amazing angel, Carol Jean Yates (71), returned to heaven peacefully on Tuesday, May 28, 2024; much too soon. Carol was surrounded by her loved ones her last few days, which brought much happiness and joy to her heart. As her body failed her in the end, Carol's heart of gold continued to shine through. Carol loved to play games and one can bet that she, Louise, & Grandma Benson are probably playing cards as we speak.
Carol married her lifelong sweetheart, David Yates, on November 6, 1970, and they spent 53 wonderful years together. Carol and Dave loved spending every waking moment together which included long weekends at their cabin in Wyoming. Carol also loved to travel, going on many trips and cruises including the "bucket" list cruise to Alaska with Shirley & Mike this past August. Carol also loved to go camping and fishing. Dave and Carol built a successful automotive machine shop business, Pro Machine, that they worked together at for the past 39 years.
Carol and Dave had two children, Cindy, and Troy. Carol loved her grandchildren (Nick, Ashley, Lacey, Zach, & Chris) & great grandchild (Zane) so very much. Whenever Carol had a chance, she would plan a family get-together and when the day finally arrived for everyone to visit you could see just how happy it made her.
Carol worked so hard to make sure everyone she knew felt special in their own way and never forgotten. Carol always did the little things for others and never asked for anything in return but love. This earthly world will miss Carol's kindness but now it's up to us to take that torch and run.
Carol is survived by her husband Dave Yates, daughter Cindy Tanner (Rick), brothers Dwayne Benson (Billie), Paul Benson, Carl Benson (Darlene), sister Shirley Jacobsen (Mike), grandchildren Nick Tanner (Kasie), Ashley Tanner (Deven), Lacey Carter (Dexton), Zachary Yates (Kamilla), Chris Yates and great grandchild Zane.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents Bill & Marian Benson, sister Louise Smullin (Ray), son Troy Yates (Rebecca), & granddaughter Holly Yates.
