Carolyn Sue Hedrick Moon, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister passed away at home on March 16, 2022, with her husband, Melvin, of almost 62 years, by her side.
Carolyn was born September 5, 1940, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Charles Lowell and Wilma Bernice Hedrick. Carolyn spent the majority of her life in Utah, where she traveled to attend Brigham Young University, after graduating early from high school. She attended BYU for 2 ½ years before marrying Melvin Moon on April 14, 1960 and later becoming the mother of two daughters, Teresa and Kimberly.
Carolyn was a lifelong BYU fan and could frequently be found watching BYU games on television and cheering them on.
Carolyn spent over 30 years as an Avon representative, something she thoroughly enjoyed. She was a very loving and compassionate wife, mother, friend and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Carolyn is survived by her husband Melvin; daughters Teresa (Chris) Tate and Kimberly Moon; 4 grandchildren, Heather (Wayne) Royall, Holly (Daniel) Martinez, Jesse Plant, Laurel (Josh Baker) Plant; 9 great-grandchildren, Sydney Trease, Kaitlyn Royall, Liam Royall, Xavier Royall, Tia Chavez, Hyde Martinez, Lilianna Baker, Oliver Baker, Iris Baker; brothers Chuck (Pat) Hedrick, Bryce (Susie) Hedrick; sister Judy (Jack) Braithwaite.
Preceded in death by her parents; and great-granddaughter Ashlyn Plant.
The family wishes to express sincere thanks to the awesome nurses, CNAs and case manager at Inspiration Hospice, who took such great care of Carolyn, as well as helped provide a peaceful and compassionate environment during her transition from this life to the next.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
