Carrolyn Ann Chapman Ripley (AKA Grandma Moby) Carrolyn Ann Chapman Ripley, (AKA Grandma Moby) our beloved mother and best friend, passed away at her home in Petersboro, Utah on Wednesday October 26, 2011. She had a 10 year battle with illness due to the effects of Type II diabetes. She was born in Salt Lake City on November 12, 1939 to the late Esther and Hubert Chapman. Carrolyn is legendary for her theatrical abilities as noted by all of her fans. She authored and choreographed many Road Shows and skits. She leaves a heritage of talents and gifts including, but not limited to: writing, singing, acting, dancing, baking, hiking, camping, tennis, skiing, gardening and shopping at antique stores. Carrolyn was very active in the LDS church. She served in many capacities including the Young Women s Program, the ward Relief Society Presidency, Sunday school teacher, Primary teacher, and ward missionary. Everyone who met Carrolyn or knew of her was drawn to her like a magnet. She made every person feel completely accepted and loved like they were the most important person she had ever met. She never lost faith in others abilities to overcome and to progress. She was certainly considerate of all of her family showering them with continual acceptance; no strings attached. Carrolyn is survived by her eternal companion Garth T. Ripley. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on September 11, 1959. Their adoring Children: Sundee Ripley-Ware, Chante (Ned) Siegfried, Julee (Eddie) Iorg, Garth Rip (Hilary) Ripley, Matthew Matt (Stacie) Ripley feel like they have lost their head cheerleader. She is adored by her 18 grandchildren and her 2 great grandchildren: She is survived by her sisters, Janette Knight, Gail (Dee) Throckmorton and her brother Stephen (Kathy) Chapman, sister-in-law Claren Gay (Ron) Pendleton, many nieces and nephews and some very dear friends She was preceded in death by her parents, her parents in-law, Ruth and Clarence Ripley, her brother Brent, brother in-law Jo L. Knight, sister-in-law, Janette J. Chapman, nephews and nieces, some very dear friends and her favorite pet dog, the Mobes. The Ripley family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of the Access Home Care and Hospice for their compassion and care. The funeral services will be held at the Granger Stake House, 2850 West 3835 South, West Valley City, Utah on Wednesday November 2, 2011 at 12:00 pm. A viewing will be held at The McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah on Tuesday November 1, 2011 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and one hour prior to the funeral services at the Granger Stake House. She will be interred at the Valley View Memorial Park in West Valley City.
