Caryn Ruth Porter Doman

Caryn Ruth Porter Doman was born August 20, 1971, in Tallahassee, Florida and died July 11, 2019, at home.

Caryn was raised in Pensacola, Florida and moved to Utah at the age of 22 to marry her prince charming on September 24, 1994. They were married in the Logan Utah Temple. They enjoyed almost 25 years of marriage.

Caryn was the only child of Thomas L. Porter and Bonnie Jean Heim Perkins. She did get the wonderful opportunity to have some fantastic halfsiblings, which she considered 100 percent her family. Caryn is survived by her husband; Troy Alan Doman, three children; Tyler (Whitney) Doman, Brieanna Doman, and Kynleigh Doman. Also survived by her parents; Thomas L. Porter and Bonnie Jean Heim Perkins, siblings; Laura (Donny) Thompson Kingsley, Jeanne (Chris) Thompson Garrett, Bryan (Ashley) Everett Thompson, and Jeremy (Courtney) William Thompson.

Caryn’s life was dedicated to serving others. She served a mission for the LDS Church in San Bernardino, California. Her service didn’t stop there as she continually volunteered for any service opportunity that came her way, which included being the Section Director for AYSO Soccer, numerous Church callings, including currently serving as the Relief Society President. Caryn’s challenge to us will be to look for the opportunity to serve others and be kind.

Caryn loved to spend time with her family and decorating her home with beautiful crafts and pictures of family and friends. Caryn’s greatest joy was attending Real Salt Lake Soccer games with her husband and children. When Real Salt Lake won the MLS Championship in 2009, she is positive that her unwavering devotion directly impacted the result.

A public viewing will be held Tuesday, July 16, 2019, at 6–8pm at the McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S. Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah 84123. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2019, at 11am at the Saddlebrook Ward, 14068 S. 5600 W., Herriman, Utah 84096. Interment will be at Herriman City Cemetery, 12465 S. Pioneer Street, Herriman, Utah 84096.
