Cassell Pratt Okerlund Jr 2/11/1934 ~ 5/26/2012 Our loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend, passed away at his home, with his family at his side, after a very courageous battle with COPD. His love for camping and fishing with his family are beautiful memories that will be cherished by all. His favorite fishing holes were Fish Lake and Johnson Reservoir. Cassell Pratt Okerlund Jr. was born in 1934 in Loa, UT to Cassell Pratt Okerlund and Veta Ernsten. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. On September 3, 1957 he married Myrna Branch in Richfield, UT. He worked for the Air National Guard in Tucson, AZ and then moved back to Utah and worked for Sperry Rand as an Electronics Specialist for many years and retired from Lockheed Martin after 30 years. He served as a Cubmaster and Scoutmaster for many years and held various positions in the LDS Church. Survived by his wife, Myrna; children: Russell (Jenny), Riverton, UT; Jerald (Kim), Puyallup, WA; Philip (Karen), Orange, CA; (daughter-in-law, JoDee), West Jordan, UT; Mitchell (Lorri), Tooele, UT; Jennifer (Wade) Fackrell, Surprise, AZ; 21 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; siblings, Ted Buetler, Louise Thalman, Boyd (Linda) Peterson. Preceded in death by his son, Marshall; daughter, Jeanette; parents; stepfather; brother and sister. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Harmony Home Health Hospice for all their help and support, with special thanks to Jamie Miller for all her love, support and kindness through this difficult time. We also would like to thank the VA Hospital for the caring they provided over these many years. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 2, 2012, 12:00 noon at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, UT where a viewing will be held , 11-11:45 a.m. prior to services.
