Catherine Mitchell

Our sweet sister Catherine Mitchell of Kearns, Utah, born April 25, 1962, was called home by her Heavenly Father after a courageous battle with Leukemia on December 2, 2016. In her last moments, she was surrounded by loved ones. Cathy graduated from Viewmont High and then went on to join the Marines. Following her time in and honorable discharge from the Marines, she went on to Connecticut to become a nanny. She then served an LDS mission in Sacramento ,California. After returning to Salt Lake City from her mission, Cathy worked various jobs before rediscovering her first love of working with children. She loved creating beautiful cross stitch pictures. She was a talented creative writer. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, board games, card games and reading. Most of all, Cathy loved spending time with her family and the children she loved so much. Cathy was loved by everyone she met including the 4-legged ones, always bringing a ray of sunshine and a positive attitude to every situation. She had an affinity for love and an understanding heart. Cathy is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Charlotte Mitchell. She is survived by her siblings Christine Loveridge (Pat), Carina (Shane) Fishburn and Charles (Caroline) Mitchell; her beloved nieces and nephews: Jeremy, Sandra, Kira, Robert, Stephanie, Maxwell, Victoria, Avery, Breydon, Taylor, Dominick, Xander, and Dakotah; and her precious dog Daisy.
