Charles Arthur Barneck passed away on 14 July 2015. He was born 27 November, 1927 in Fort Douglas, Utah, to Ralph Alexander and Melba Matilda Freshwater Barneck, the second of two children. He had the distinction of being the last baby born there. After graduating from Ogden High School, Charles joined the Navy for one year at the end of World War II. While in the Navy he gained an education in Elementary Electricity and Radio Material. When he left the Navy, Charles continued studying electricity at the University of Utah and graduated with a BS degree in electrical engineering in August 1953. During that time he met Evelyn Lucile Haley and they married 13 August, 1951 in the Salt Lake Temple. His employment took him and his family to Washington, Virginia, Arizona, and to Bountiful, Utah, where he and Evelyn raised their children. He worked for KSL, Boeing, Sperry Univac, Kenway, and Hill Air Force Base. He served an LDS mission to Mexico, and he and Evelyn served two Spanish-speaking missions after their retirement. They were also workers for several years in the Bountiful Temple. He was active in both family history research and indexing. He is survived by his four children, Michael Ralph (Linda) Barneck, Jeffrey Hugh (JoLynn) Barneck, Gloria (Robert) Neel, and Matthew Charles (Brenda) Barneck; fifteen grandchildren; and twenty-seven great-grandchildren; and by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his spouse, Evelyn; two granddaughters, Jacki and Justine Barneck; his parents, Ralph and Melba Barneck; and his brother, Ralph Barneck. Charles very much loved his family and his children. The family would like to thank those at The Wentworth at East Millcreek Assisted Living and Hospice For Utah for helping care for him. A viewing will be held Saturday, 18 July, 2015, 9-10:45 a.m. at the Kenwood 2nd Ward, 3080 South 1765 East, Salt Lake City.
