Leon Charles Hatt was born on January 15, 1942, to Charles Leroy Hatt and Opal Collett in Murray, UT.  Passed away August 27, 2021. Graduated from Bingham High School. Served in the U.S. Navy 1961 to 1965. Attended Salt Lake Vocational School where he received a certificate as master machinist. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and hunting, skeet shooting, golfing and outdoor activities.

Survived by brother Everett Hatt; sisters Janiel Houghton, Shannon Freeman; 7 nieces; and 4 nephews.

Preceded in death by parents; sister Patricia Newson; nephew David Newson; and three bothers- in-law Dick Houghton, Lee Montgomery, and Howard Newson.

A gathering will be held on Friday, September 3, 2021 at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S.  Redwood Rd., from 9:00 am - 10:00 am. Graveside services at Utah Veterans Memorial Park, 17111 S. Redwood Rd.  at 11:00am.
